Cost 90$ AEMT MAXX is a tool that evolved from an early SKIM and VIN tool developed by ECUunlock.
The tool allowed the user to make a SKIM-activated PCM into a SKIM-desactivated PCM.

Disable SKIM: IMMO OFF
SRI Mileage Edit: Modify the Service Reminder Indicator mileage.
VIN Editor: Edit Vehicle Identification Numbers.
Read Memory: Access and read flash memory.
Write Memory: Write data back to the flash memory.

make sure your j2534 device supports sci ( j2610 ) and can bus before purchase
apnt is benchtop programming tool.
(most use it in vehicle with no issues. i can not guarantee it supports all in vehicle programming )
apnt will disable skim but!!! if you install ecu into a vehicle with a skim module it will re-enable skim in that vehicle . you will need to unplug skim module if you are using for this purpose.

Be careful:
if you unplug the skim module to disable skim you will lose keyless entry and tire pressure monitor functionality.
